“Since happiness and suffering are parts of the mind, if we want to avoid suffering and find true happiness we need to understand the nature and functions of the mind.” – How to Transform Your Life, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
When anxiety and depression are strong, we have little or no ability to control our mind. However, even the physical symptoms of these horrible states of mind have their origins in something within the mind itself. This is why medicines for anxiety and depression are usually only partially effective. It is only through gaining an understanding of our mind, that we can then start to see where our unhappiness and agitation are actually coming from. This workshop will introduce traditional Buddhist meditations and practices that have proven themselves to be highly effective in reducing negativity, and in increasing positive and peaceful states of mind.
