“You should never abandon Highest Yoga Tantra, but realize that it has inconceivable meaning and is the very essence of Buddhadharma.” – Buddha, Condensed Heruka Root Tantra

This year, the International Kadampa Fall Festival in Australia is going to include the Highest Yoga Tantra empowerments of Heruka and Vajrayogini. These empowerments are usually only offered once every 2 years in the New Kadampa Tradition of modern Buddhism, and so if you think you might want to learn more about these practices and start experimenting with the meditations, you would be well-advised to go ahead and take advantage of the opportunity to receive these empowerments this year. To introduce people to Buddhist Tantric meditation in general, we are offering this March 19 retreat, which will also help establish a basic foundation of understanding, in preparation for the actual Festival in the fall.

Although Tantra is very popular, not many people understand its real meaning. Tantra, also known as “Secret Mantra” or “Vajrayana,” is a special method to purify our world, our self, our enjoyments and our activities; and if we put this method into practice we will attain enlightenment very quickly. In this retreat, our Resident Teacher, Gen Norbu, will introduce the Tantric Buddhist approach to self-transformation, and guide meditations to help us let go of our oh-so-boring self-limiting preconceptions, freeing us to realize our limitless potential swiftly.
