What makes Buddhist meditation Buddhist? There are many things that are unique to Buddhist meditation. One of the most important being the Buddhist understanding of the mind. Buddhist meditation is all for the purpose of solving the basic problem of human suffering. Through understanding the mind, and understanding karma, solutions can be found that are not possible otherwise.

Making Life Meaningful: 3 Principle Aspects of the Path to Enlightenment & Guru Yoga Guided Meditation Retreat

Intro to Meditation Retreat + 3 special retreat weekends in January
with teachings & meditations guided by Gen Kelsang Jindak and guest teacher Gen Kelsang Dorje

Over the first two full weekends we will practice “Lamrim” meditations, which means the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. This retreat will go through one complete cycle of the Lamrim presentation in the book The Mirror of Dharma With Additions. This book presents a Lamrim cycle of fifteen meditations.

On the third week we will explore Buddha’s Tantric teachings and learn the practice of relying on a spiritual guide, known as Guru Yoga. By drawing closer to our root Guru in the aspect of a Tantric Buddha, we become more and more like him, and more and more capable of benefiting others.
