“Samsara’s pleasures are deceptive, give no contentment, only torment; so please bless me to strive sincerely to gain the bliss of perfect freedom.” – Prayer of the Stages of the Path, Je Tsongkhapa (AD 1357-1419)
Attachment, or uncontrolled desire, is the underlying source of so many of our problems, mental suffering, and even physical pain. It is one thing to gain control over our behavior, so that at least we’re not following our desirous attachment and wild cravings any more. But in order to be at peace, free from the temptations of this inner demon of desire, we need to know how to protect our mind from distraction and inappropriate attention. In this workshop, our Resident Teacher, Gen Norbu, will teach special ways of thinking and guide us through meditation practices for cultivating authentic minds of non-attachment in our heart.
