“O Blessed One, Shakyamuni Buddha, precious treasury of compassion, bestower of supreme inner peace…” – The Liberating Prayer, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

The Liberating Prayer is one of the most well-known and well-loved prayers in modern Kadampa Buddhism. It was written by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and is used at the beginning of all our classes, pujas, and other activities. No commentary to this prayer has been published to date, but on one occasion Geshe Kelsang gave extensive commentary orally to a senior student. In this very special event, our Resident Teacher, Gen Norbu, will read parts of this commentary and give additional explanations to the profound meanings contained therein.
