Guided Meditation Retreats on Saturdays in January

On retreat we stop all forms of business and extraneous activities so as to emphasize a particular spiritual practice.

Begin your year with a guided meditation retreat.  Get the year started on January 3 with a Saturday morning retreat. Then we offer three one-day Saturday retreats covering the three principle aspects of the path to enlightenment as explained in Geshe Kelsang’s book, Mirror of Dharma.   

You can attend any or all of these retreats in January.  (See total pricing below for the whole month.)

Gen Kelsang Jindak has been a disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 20 years. Ordained as a Buddhist nun in 2003, she was given the name Kelsang Jindak, which means “Fortunate Benefactor”. She has many years of experience teaching and volunteering at Kadampa Centers around the U.S. Gen Jindak has a clear, joyful teaching style and presents Kadampa Buddhism practically, for both beginners and experienced meditators alike.

Guest teacher Gen Kelsang Tashi  is a Buddhist monk and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Miami. He has been practicing and teaching meditation in the Kadampa tradition for over 15 years. His gentle approach to meditation emphasizes the importance of keeping a happy and positive mind. He is appreciated for his clear, light-hearted and practical presentation of Buddhist teachings.

All January retreats including January 3 (Saturday morning) and January 10, 17 and 24 (day retreats):

Cost $150 ($120 pre reg  by January 1st) 

Standard members: Cost $130 ($100 pre reg by January 1st) 

Cost each day of  retreat:

January 3  (morning retreat) 

 Cost: $35 ($30 pre reg by January 1st)  

Standard members: $25 ($20 pre reg by January 1st)  

January 10 or 17 or 24 (day retreat with 4 sessions a day) 

Cost: $50 ($40 pre reg by January 8th) 

Standard members: $40 ($30 pre reg by January 8th) 

Plus members: All January retreats included with your membership  (Please register  in advance)
If you cancel 24 hours prior to the start of the event we will refund all except 25%. If you cancel on, or after, the event, no refunds are given. Exceptions may be made in circumstances such as sickness or bereavement; you should apply by e-mail to ad@meditateinfortlauderdale.org within 2 weeks of the end of the Event. Any non-refunded fees arising from cancellations are donated to the NKT-IKBU International Temples Project.
