Special Empowerment and Commentary to the Liberating Prayer with Gen Kelsang Jindak November 4, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm Everyone is welcome!

On this special Saturday, Gen Jindak will grant the blessing empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism. By receiving this empowerment we can make a deep personal connection with Buddha and receive his powerful blessings to heal our mental continuum and awaken our potential for enlightenment. Gen Jindak will then give a commentary to the Liberating Prayer, through which we will understand how Buddha’s love for all beings without exception, can protect us from our inner problems such as anger, and is the source of all happiness. Through practicing what Buddha taught we can transform our life and experience profound inner peace and happiness.
"If we understand and contemplate the meaning of the Liberating Prayer – it is the best method to develop faith in Buddha and his teachings, which is our spiritual life and the root of all Dharma realizations."    – Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

Guided Refuge Retreat with Gen Jindak Saturday, October 21:   10 am - 12:45 pm

We all seek protection in something. But most of the things we turn to offer partial, temporary relief at best. We need permanent liberation from all suffering and problems. Buddhists seek ultimate refuge in the Three Jewels - Buddha, the omniscient doctor who guides us along the spiritual path, Sangha, the kind spiritual nurses who inspire us and show a good example, and Dharma, the actual medicine that cures our mental pain protecting us from fear and suffering. On this very special guided retreat with Gen Jindak learn how to engage in the practice of refuge both in retreat and in daily life.

Peaceful Mind in a Stressful World
When we see our feelings and thoughts and all the attitudes of our mind as limited, when we hold onto these, we are trapped in a painful experience. Buddha teaches that our mind is the creator of our experience; so it is the key determining factor in whether we are happy or unhappy. Through learning to understand our mind, we can replace limited attitudes and unhelpful ways of thinking with ones that are the nature of peace. We can gain a personal understanding of how our mind creates our reality: and with this confidence we can start to bring about limitless change. Suggested reading: How to Understand the Mind

How To Transform Your Life   |   Sep 6 - Oct 25
Join us as we explore the concepts and practices from How to Transform Your Life by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, so that we may adapt a more peaceful and balanced state of mind.
"When things go wrong in our life and we encounter difficult situations, we tend to regard the situation itself as our problem, but in reality whatever problems we experience come from the mind. If we were to respond to difficult situations with a positive or peaceful mind they would not be problems for us: indeed we may even come to regard them as challenges or opportunities for growth and development. Problems arise only if we respond to difficulties with a negative state of mind. Therefore, if we want to be happy all the time and be free from problems, we must develop and maintain a peaceful state of mind."   ~Venerable Geshe-la
